Job-Search Support
- Identify jobs that fit your experience, interests, schedule, and transportation.
- Create or improve a basic resume.
- Set up an email address and use online application systems.
- Prepare a work-history list and references.
- Practice describing your skills and experience for an interview.
- Connect with the Kentucky Career Center or another employment program.
Helpful Information to Gather
- Names and dates of previous employers.
- Job duties, trade skills, licenses, certifications, and education.
- A safe telephone number, email address, or other contact method.
- Days and hours you are available to work.
- Transportation range and any workplace accommodation needs.
- Two or three people who have agreed to serve as references, when possible.

Protect yourself during a job search: Use legitimate employer or government websites, confirm who is requesting information, and do not place Social Security numbers, banking information, passwords, or identity-document images in public notes or feedback.
